In development for much of the past year, we’re thrilled to announce that the new VACAYA App is here!
The VACAYA App was born from a simple idea: our community deserves a place of its own. A place where Vacayans can meet, share common interests, chat, organize activities, and stay connected before, during, and after every VACAYA vacation. As many social platforms have become increasingly polarized and less welcoming for LGBTQIAPK+ people, we wanted to build something different – a community-first space where respect, authenticity, and belonging aren’t just encouraged; they’re expected.
Your V Team has done a tremendous job kicking the tires, but we’re not naïve enough to think our app is perfect out of the box, and we anticipate there might be a bug or two along the way. But, if you grant us just a tiny bit of grace and patience, we promise to continue refining it until it hums.
In a nutshell, when using it on one of our trips, your new VACAYA App has the ability to replace WhatsApp, Facebook Groups, Messages, Grindr, Scruff, ROMEO, Hornet, Sniffies, Hinge, Tinder, Jack’d, and even Telegram. Yes, we recognize that’s a mighty heavy lift, but the VACAYA App comes with quite a few benefits, including:
- Individual profiles for all users, with the ability to designate interests and preferences (built to mirror our Stoplight V-Dance, with Green, Yellow, and Red guiding your choices)
- Full schedule of VACAYA entertainment, parties, and social activities for each trip
- The ability to designate which VACAYA events you’d like to attend, creating your own personalized schedule that’s entirely yours
- The Village – an Open Group Chat for all Vacayans on the trip (PG-rated and somewhat similar to a Facebook Group if it were chattier) – COMING SOON!
- After Dark (NSFW) – a Not Safe For Work Open Group Chat for more explicit photo sharing and adult conversation (think Telegram) – COMING SOON!
- Who’s In? – This is the ultimate way to put out there exactly what you’re looking for, whether a coffee date, a cocktail meetup, a dinner partner, a party buddy, or sex. Other Vacayans can see your Who’s In? listing and write to you directly to be considered. It’s up to you to find your perfect match!
- Event-specific Chats (allowing you to chat with others attending an event you’ve shown interest in)
- The ability to search profiles and message other Vacayans privately
- The ability to set up your own Group chats, where you invite other Vacayans to join you
- VACAYA can send you Push Notifications when schedules change or emergencies arise (Please allow these on your phone so you don’t miss out. We promise not to be overly Push-y.)
- The ability to book your next VACAYA vacation right in the App
And the best part?!?
The VACAYA App works on board the ship even if you haven’t purchased a WiFi package! So, you’ll be able to connect to the ship’s Wi-Fi, stay in touch with your friends, and make lots of new ones in a completely new AND FREE way!
